Special Schemes GB Italeri 1/48 F-16 *Finished*

Post by Fumbles »

Well it is about time that I get back into some Group Builds. This is my first entry and since this one is fairly basic and the time schedule was extended, I should be able to add another build. :heyhey:

Well I have been busy busy busy over here. Not just building but work took almost all my free time. Needless to say, the main part of the build is done. Paint will be added today and since it'll be gloss black. I'll let the kit sit and dry for a few days to avoid the stick finger prints.

Ok on with the 3 shots of what the kit looks like now. The one thing I hate about some of these F-16 molds... That darn spine attachment that runs from the cockpit to the tail. They never make it wide enough so you end up with a thin line on either side to fill. Also the kit hasn't been washed yet, sorry for the green sanding dust.

Many thanks for looking and the comments. A qicky update again since it is Saturday morning here and it is grocery shopping day. The gloss black was sprayed with multiple coats. After a couple of days of drying it was time for decals.

If it was not for micro set and micro sol.... I really don't think the 3 decals on the nose would have settled in place. Now it will be time for a clear coat and the final bits.

So where I am today.... Looks like I will have time to build another one during this group build. :heyhey:

I finally got a chance to buy some construction paper... As a test I bought two different shades of blue. I like the lighter shade better for photos.

That looks like a pretty decent paint/decalling job :worship: I have to say this isn't exactly my favourite special scheme of all the ones out there but you've done a great job. Looking forward to the finished item :snack:

Again many thanks for watching this one.. The kit is done, now that I have it completed.... I really don't like this special scheme.

Sadly the clear coat that I sprayed the other day went all pear shaped as you in the UK say... It dried all bumpy, shiny in some areas and dull in others. I had to wet sand very softly since the decals were on and spray a coat of Tamiya clear sadly so think that a lot of the detail has been filled in and gave that extra shiny layer.

I'll be building something else for this build. Sunday will reveal all..... :heyhey:

Just two shots for now, the other two are in the completed gallery.

Got to admit I too hated this scheme, but that's a fine looking F-16. It's definitely noticeable!

Heck, there's builds being completed all over the place.

Impressive both the build and the fact you managed to finish one before the deadline!

Well done mate, lovely job.
