Hi Guys,

Anyone know of any tours that start in Moscow? I am coming via a train trip, all the way from Australia, and looking for any tours on the 29th and 30th.

Regards

Josh

For those travelling from the UK with Ian Allen...1 month to go, and we'll be in Moscow :yahoo: :yahoo:

Saw a tweet or FB post the other day suggesting the A350 will be displaying there.

There wasnt one on static last time they were all parked on an apron miles away from the showground. This should be the first time, I think, to see one up close & personal. Going to be awesome

Yep, seeing one up close should be good but the flying displays thus far have been very disappointing... :tumbleweed:

From pictures I've seen they have the fences right up close to the aircraft, right?

Hi,

Have attended many MAKS now and can confirm the fences are close & tall, luckily easy to stick a lens through, for the larger types walking around the back offers a better side on view and they only have rope there to contend with.

a lovely example of the fencing.......

What fencing? :p

Blimey that's tall. Guessing they don't let people past them much then?

Well, I've been checking out the Russian FB page for MAKS using the ol' Google Translate and it would seem that they'll have the MiG 1.44 on static display

On # MAKS2015 first time in history, and without a case the public will be presented to the aircraft design bureau "MiG", a prototype fifth-generation aircraft with a difficult fate - "Item 1.44", also known as MFI (multi-role fighters). Work on it began before over American fighter F-22. A first public demonstration was held 20 years ago - at MAKS 1995. The demonstration was canceled just hours before the start of the air show. A second attempt to demonstrate experimental fighter took two years at MAKS 1997. Again, the plane has not been presented to visitors. He first flew on 29 February 2000. And now, after more than 15 years, the first time he will appear before the audience! Come see the historic exhibition "Legends of Aviation"!

Dear friends! Great news! On static display # MAKS2015 this year we are waiting for a historical exhibition, organized by "Nick", a charitable foundation "Legends of Aviation" with the direct participation and support of the administration and of Zhukovsky "Airshow". The exposition will be represented by at least 9 aircraft. For the first time at the MAKS-2015 will feature unique Tu-155 and MiG 1.44. In addition, the organizers will show a universal favorite Tu-144 and MiG-25, MiG-27, Su-15, VM-T Atlant, Su-27 and Farman IV. The Tu-144 and Tu-155 will be organized tours! We will talk more about each of the pieces in our belt, do not miss!

That ka-52k looks just incredible.

Note to self. Stop looking at the Maks thread. The jealousy is getting too much.

The Ka-52K's scheduled attendance is mighty-fine considering the variant's first flight was in March this year, though, bar folding stubs and rotorblades/non-corrosive paint/immersion suit-capable cockpit, I'm not sure what is changed on the standard '52s.

Anyone know what the Mi-28NE is as opposed to just the Mi-28N? If any? They're obviously confident that the grounding order will be lifted on the type in time for MAKS following the recent crash last weekend.

Flying out two weeks on Wednesday. Cannot wait!

2 weeks today BA to Moscow Domodedovo :yahoo: :yahoo:

2 days at MAKS , Monino , Victory Park , Vadim Zadorozhny Technic Museum ( must get on the right bus this time !! ) , etc etc . Yee Haa !!

On a bit of a "non MAKS" question. Anyone know if the "modern " aircraft at the Victory Park museum are accessible as they are now lined up on the other side of the road from the main display set up ?

Also can links to previous MAKS info pages be posted . ie participating aircraft line up etc.

Thanks.

Those who've been to MAKS before - is there any reason pedestrians can't access the airfield via the car routes?

I am staying about a 30 minutes walk from entrance 2 (as on the car park map) and plan to just walk into this entrance.

I leave for Moscow tomorrow. :yahoo:

Take sunglasses as you'll be looking into the sun all day- if it's out. And don't go off piste and look around the rows of stored MiGs, Tupolevs, Berievs, Sukhois, Mils etc as they put you in a small hot room for a few hours with sweaty colleagues whilst going through all your pictures... :ninja: :ninja:

Enjoy - it will rock I'm sure...!

I'm assuming you don't mean the static display!

No I'm far too cowardly to risk incurring the wrath of the VVS.
