First timer here!

Post by Kimberleyanddarren »

Hi everyone :)

I just booked my husband and I tickets to the air show at cosford. We have never been before and having read many things on this site, I was hoping for some advice to make the most of the experience.

For example, do you pack a picnic? Bring fishing chairs? Will we get to hear the sonic boom? Arrive early?

Anything you could tell us would be much appreciated!

Thanks :worship:

1. There is fast food outlets but you are welcome to bring your own food
2. Unless you are in an enclosure than you will need to bring your own chairs
3. Sonic booms are not permitted over land in the UK
4. I would recommend arriving early to avoid most traffic.

Enjoy the show!

Flying programme is very enjoyable, usually contains stuff for all members of the family- Reds, Typhoon, Meteor, Falcons Parachute Team!

There is a large variety of trade stalls which sell most things you can think of!

There is also the RAF Museum which is open on the show day (I think!)

Well, not quite true but unless a QRA (fighter scramble) happens to get permission to go supersonic that day, you won't be hearing one at the show!

Do they seek permission before or retrospectively? Or does being on a QRA mission in itself give you the permission?

Usually they'll be told to by controllers, I believe?
