1/144 GB: A pair of Concordes - complete

Post by DerekF »

Next up. Two Concordes, one Airfix, one Revell. Airfix to be finished in the last scheme, the Revell in the Landor scheme. I think the Revell is supposed to be the better of the two but we'll see.

Great stuff Derek, keep 'em comin. I always wanted to have a bash at the Revell one just to be able to model the "droop snoot" down. Which is the best one to put together?- I recall the Airfix one being pretty simple..

Thanks for that. Now finished.
The Airfix is the simpler of the two and has less detail but I think looks better. The Revell has a complicated intake assembly and I think sits too nose high.
The Landor scheme red stripe is tricky to put on as well.

Airfix as G-BOAF in the last scheme.

Revell as G-BOAC in the Landor scheme.

Very good Derek  , the Landor scheme was so smart, much more elegant than the final scheme.

I see both kits struggled with the pitot, Airfix just didn't bother and Revell have given it a telegraph pole!

Very nice and I think I agree over which one to go for, the nose on the Revell one looks a bit bulbous, the Airfix ones looks far more elegant.
