Ok thanks, the FRIAT renewal forms detail it as a change to 2017 that Friday would be a full day
Re: RIAT 2017
I fail to see how they will get it all in on time with only the two arrivals days and no time on the Friday for additional arrivals that don't make it. Also all the practice and validations can't see it happening without Tuesday as a arrivals day as well??
Re: RIAT 2017
Maybe they'll have a Tuesday arrivals day then

Re: RIAT 2017
Or if you aren't able to arrive by Thursday then you can't come. So who wanted to see what at RIAT 2017? The weather not looking too good either for the Friday morning............
Re: RIAT 2017
Also remember that RIAT are also organising the RAF Scampton Air Show in 2017! Will be hopefully a good year next year for UK airshows

My hotel has gone up from £50 a night to £90. Still I have still booked it because that is 40 years of (R)IAT for me!

Re: RIAT 2017
Anyone else notice the B-2 on the advert for next year's show? I know it doesn't mean anything but - with slowly increasing U.S. participation over the last few years - it could be a sign of another extraordinary RIAT next year.

Re: RIAT 2017
Hmmm. I haven't been for a couple of years, so I was caught out by Friday being 'airshow lite'. I think I'd prefer a ticket just for arrivals and departures. Will look at what the Mach 3 offering is for 2017 in the morning (if it's available).

Re: RIAT 2017
2017 and 2018 have the potential - with the two huge anniversaries - to be even more impressive than this year. Perhaps in the flying next year we could 'expect' F-22, F-35, F-15, F-18, B-1, 2 and 52, plenty o' static heavies, the Thunderbirds, SallyB, P-51s...a long wishlist I know but with the U.S. 100th anniversary it's not beyond the realms...maybe even the B-29 coming over?
Ok, scratch that last! American participation is on the up over the last few years though so some of that list is feasible!

No Thunderbirds next year!
Re: RIAT 2017
Anyways, unless i see the space shuttle come out of retirement and win some awards here for best display. I will not be buying a ticket.

Actually, for once, there is a chance.
Unlike the usual claims centred around a pie in the sky perceived gap in their calendar where people say "they're free that weekend I wonder".
There is.a physical entry in their 2017 calendar for the Thunderbirds....
July 15-16: Open Date
Re: RIAT 2017
Does anyone know if the USAF are treating RIAT 2017 as their official European birthday party? If they are I would say the T'birds are definitely a likely addition. Ten years since their last visit, 100 year anniversary of their own airforce...
Airshowhammer I bet you an overpriced bacon roll next July 15th that you're there

I'm not sure about 100 years of there own airforce, but it is the 100th anniversary of them entering WW1. I thought it was only 5 years since the Tbirds were last here in 2011 at Waddington, maybe Riat was 10 years but the UK it was definitely only 5.
