Its traditional for Southport to confirm items very close to the show, happens every year.

More additions, the predictable Strikemaster and Bronco returning but interestingly the CAP 232 duo. New one to me, any idea as to who are flying them? Also another addition coming tomorrow, hope it's a good one!

I'm chuffed to bits with the Matadors inclusion. Very good and very seldom seen. indeed.

Does anyone know if you can go on the beach close to the golf club (south of Southport) and get nearer the display line for better shots? Or do they kick you off 'for your own safety'

There's no need to go anywhere to get nearer the display line - you're nice and close at the fence in the showground.

It looks like Shuttleworths Avro Anson has been added to the Sunday line up, nice bit of variation for a change, it has to be said.

Wow what a fantastic 3 days it has been at Southport Airshow, a really excellent varied lineup, the Matadors were excellent. In fact I enjoyed virtually all the displays. So many highlights, Peter Teichman never disappoints in his P51 Mustang, the Mig 15 and 2 Vampires were excellent, accompanied by the explosions on the beach. the Red Arrows were awesome on Friday, a really excellent Airshow, Blades were excellent, and the Tigers Parachute Team, descending with various flags etc, from maximum altitude today was also memorable ))

The BBMF were superb on all 3 days, the Spitfire Duo display, and formation passes with the Blenheim, was something else to hear and witness. And ending today with the Eurofighter Typhoon, what a way to end, a really memorable Airshow. It is definately worthy, of a report in Flypast Magazine ! I thoroughly enjoyed myself, all 3 days and what a scorcher weatherwise !

Eddy how where the crowds over the week end, for one reason or another I couldn't make it this year. I thought they might be down because of the football and a lack of the Reds being there, Sat/Sun.
But glad you enjoyed it, even though the flying looked a bit thin this year.

The crowd was significantly larger today, there was loads of people on the beach. Yesterday there was less, I thought it was good, that they had a big screen showing the football for people, which was further back towards Pleasureland.

I did Friday and today. Undoubtedly Southport, despite feeling slightly different in this mid summer slot. Friday night was the winner for me - a real spectacle and tremendous entertainment.

Some highlights today as well though - Matadors and Spitfire duo especially - and I'm glad i made the effort to go.
