The event is now a "bridge too far" due to new regulations, local authority requirements and running costs for a volunteer team to organise.

That's a shame, was a nice show last year, interesting location which brought a lot of childhood memories back.

Another one bites the dust.
The outlook, at least for civilian events, gets no less bleak.
Hopefully 2018 will see the right resolution to Shoreham, and perhaps the first green shoots of sanity.

As with Dawlish, this show was run by volunteers who have become exhausted by the need to raise sponsorship and funding with little input from the local council, despite huge benefits to the local economy.
The reality now is that all large seaside events are backed by the support of their local councils. This is not a Shoreham issue, it is a Government spending issue. Council budgets are becoming tighter (see South Ayrshire Council and the Scottish Air Show as an example) and this may put more seaside events at risk. There have been substantial increases in costs for policing and security following the Nice, Westminster Bridge and Berlin attacks. You cannot pin everything on the events of August 2015.
