Old Warden's defintion of sell out is to be applauded. It never feels really packed, there is always space to spread out and it still feels like a relaxed day. Not sure if there are safety limitations or they limit the numbers to ensure the more relaxed atmosphere.
Great news anyway..hope its a great day, looking forward to the pics.

The wind speed now forecast to be no more than 6mph all afternoon, zero rain and zero cloud.

Just hope the ground is firm enough for the Spitfires and Blenheim to land.

Ho hum. Having discussed the possibility of going at home last night I was going to buy a pair of tickets this lunchtime! I am clearly a slow learner after being too late for a Stow Maries event last year. I cannot believe it is the Typhoon effect, maybe weather/RAF100 though. Well at least that leaves a few quid the bank for a new power washer this weekend. It does look like a great opening show, enjoy it.

Any idea how that can be judged, other than visual clues?

I'm really looking forward to my first visit to OW, courtesy of the RAF hospitality! For anyone who hasn't seen the Typhoon Display this year, it really is something good, very fast, punchy and graceful. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it when it's in the overhead!

They've been saying that every year, we'll be the judge when we see it.

Well you would say that, seeing that you're attending with RAF hospitality

Spotters probably prefer them static, makes it easier to get the reg.
Shame it took a lump of soulless plastic to get you to OW, but you'll get to see some real aircraft once the Typhoon has finished making noise over Biggleswade.

There’s your answer about whether the Spitfires etc will be landing then!

Aside from the Tiff, I’m really looking forward to seeing a show from Old Warden, a new site for me!

Same here, I'm really looking forward to the old stuff and the Lysander and Gladiator, machines I don't really get to see. TBH I don't really care if the Typhoon displays or not, even it's most probably the only time I will get to see it this year.

Just had a look at the list for whats displaying on Sunday to remind myself what is there and have noticed under visiting aircraft it has Puma (static) listed. I don't remember this being mentioned before?!? Is this a RAF Puma because if so that adds to what looks like a already brilliant airshow! Anyone got any idea if it is?

So the Ford is 'Static' too!
Sadly it can't now be used in the 'bad parking' car-drop demo' by the Puma?

Sadly I've missed the boat. Going to have to make do with Popham on Monday, at least the weather is promised to be as good as Sunday, and it's a much shorter journey for me.

There's always a big queue in there when I turn up. I got mine from the trailer - and much cheaper than "that other place (off the A505)
