Road closures

Post by farnboroughrob »

Official road closures and parking restrictions have been revealed https://www.rushmoor.gov.uk/airshowtraffic
Main issue is that the Fleet-Aldershot road along the west side is closed to vehicles, and pedestrians for the week before, week of the show, and departures 12:00-17:00 every day. I believe that the canal tow path will also be closed to pedestrians as in was in 2016? Basically there is no naughty field at the western end of the airport.

Yes it is rather OTT, don't see them closing the M11 at Duxford. They did the same last time but not on the practice week. Getting more, and more untenable as a airshow venue post Shoreham.

Those closures where in place last time for fast jet/aerobatic practice. Are any aerobatics actually performed over the M11?

Confused by the map on this link as it says the A323 is closed. So how do we get to the Pegasus enclosure ?

If you go down the A325 towards Farnborough from Aldershot there is a sign that HQ SE RFCA take that road called forged lane and follow it to the end and do a rightat the end of the road to go pass the golf course, it brings you out on the other side of the bridge to the A323. Did this yesterday and worked very well.
