BBMF? They still have a Spitfire and Dakota allocated on their display schedule.

Yes it is a tad disappointing but still a shed load of really nice historic aircraft, and fingers crossed for the weather as usual

Aren't duxford also missing out not having the Ultimate Fighters Team performing? (unless they are all listed individually?)

Not to mention the fact that the owner only went solo on type a month or so back. If there ever was an accident waiting to happen, this is it. I just hope nobody gets hurt.

Hi all,

I currently have Friday booked off, and was thinking of going to Duxford (not far from me) in the hope of seeing some aircraft flying - I'm wondering, however, if there won't be much going on. If anyone's been on the Friday before an airshow was there much activity?

Cheers,

Won't be many arrivals this year with most of the participants being based at Sywell or Duxford, but should be plenty of practice displays.

Yes, and the co-owner of Boultbee and one of the two round the world pilots is Steve Brooks.

I think the line up is brilliant. Shows how many warbirds we have in the UK. I know it’s not the same as it was 10 years ago, none the less Really looking forward to the weekend. Fingers crossed for good weather.

Getting them out of sight just in time for the show so we might forget they are about by the looks of things. Considering they’ve waited until the day before the show

Considering the designated pilots have only just arrived from the US.

Wasn't Hun Hunter shipped in via Biggin last year? I wonder if they're both headed home.

If they're both leaving, then that's a huge shame. Two fully serviceable and gorgeous P-51s leaving a day before the largest warbird show in the country.

It's certainly not looking like a classic show this year, very similar to previous years in fact, just without the foreign participation.

Somehow more disappointing to see the Friedkin P-51s depart for Biggin Hill than if they were u/s in the hangar...

Indeed, but any particular reason why they couldn't come back on Saturday morning for effect? Just wondering.... :dunno:
