I believe only one of their Hurricanes is currently flyable, the other is still in maintenance.

Oh blimey. I've been trying to cut down on the airshows, due to changes in circumstances and priorities and whatnot, successfully for the most part.

But don't think I can pass on THIS show...! What a lineup!

Is this also the most Avro 504's at one time?

Three have been at Shuttleworth but not flown together.

The Flying Legends Facebook page seems pretty adamant that the DH-9 will make it's debut at Flying Legends. (They even replied in capital letters that it's debut will be at Flying Legends) Unsure with that kind of reply as to whether it's on static or off the list entirely. It is still listed on the Shuttleworth website.

Unfortunately, Shuttleworth have just confirmed that the DH-9 won't be at the Military Pageant.

We'll just have to make do with the 8 Hurricanes, 3 Avro 504Ks, Thunderbolt, B-17 etc.

I'm sure the Nine will appear at Shuttleworth at some point, and it's still an exceptional line up.

Indeed, and as a new type that has just completed its post-restoration test regime, Old Warden was always going to be a close call for the DH-9.

And surely HAC would rather it debuted at a "home" show? Hence the cancelled show at the weekend - Shuttleworth would've been its second appearance.

So with the 5 that are planned (according to the list, 2 visiting 504's) this is a rare sight as well (if all fly together)

5!? There are 3 Avro 504s planned to display together. There aren't 5 flying in Europe.

It'll be a typo, as there's only one 504 based at Old Warden.

...and there are only three flyable ones in the UK (in fact, in all of Europe) at present.

I think unfortunately Shuttleworth have conflated the two things, listing the show item (i.e. three Avro 504s) and then listing the visiting aircraft separately. It is not the first time I have noticed this in their listings.

Looks like five Hurricanes are at Headcorn over the weekend, displaying at 12:45 on Sunday, so presumably flying into OW just in time for the flying display or perhaps during the show.

At a guess I imagine they'll fly in from Headcorn before the flying at Old Warden gets underway.

BBMF Hurricane returning to Coningsby around 17.50pm on Sunday, suggests Hurricanes will be fairly late on.

I use a 70-300. It's enough for the runway and most passes, but the extra reach will open up more options for you.

i'll just stick with the 150-600 then. if i've got it i may as well use it

Agree with LN Strike Eagle. I used to own a 150-600 and you'll most likely find that most of your shots will be taken between approx 200-350mm but the extra focal length will give you more options for some close ups etc

https://flic.kr/s/aHsmjuo3ep

These shots are some of mine taken at Old Warden with a 7D Mkii & Sigma 150-600 and the focal lengths are stated in the pics info.
Pics have been cropped a little but not majorly. Just to give you an idea
