You'd have to assume static for the Merlin, hopefully on the flight line though so it can be potentially seen arriving and departing.

Like Daks? How does eight sound?

That's right. Eight Daks expected at OW on Sunday, with paddock access to most of them.

Do you know if they are departing before or after the show?

They'll be in a paddock area between 10 and 12, so will arrive before 10. Presumably the arrivals will be spaced out a bit as OW probably won't want all 8 rocking up at the same time from a ground handling point of view.

Ignore my wild speculation above, I'm now told that they're coming over on Saturday and being left overnight.

Oh, and the list is now up to 9 'so far'.

They're due to depart Old Warden mid show on the Sunday.

That's as good a guess as any! I'll be at Duxford on the Sunday too, I think.

Someone in the SVAS Facebook group commented that the Daks will depart before the Red Arrows. The NOTAM for their display starts from 16:55.

Are there any ideas as to what time they will turn up at Shuttleworth tomorrow?
I am at Duxford on Sunday so I guess with a bit of luck I will see their return.

So Reds are on late. Hmm.. Would have liked them to open the show to take 20 mins of the worst light...

from Shuttleworth wbsite and FB page:

We are very happy to play host to 9 DC3 variants at Sunday's #flyingfestival http://www.shuttleworth.org/events/flyingfestival

Six of the nine will be part of 'Aircraft Uncovered' from 10.00-12.00. They will be leaving on Sunday, not in 'formation' but will be a great sight here at Old Warden, as they go off to join what will be a very moving tribute in the following days.

- C-47A-40-DL Skytrain 42-24064 – Placid Lassie– N74589 – (Lead Aircraft)
- C-47-DL Skytrain 42-32833 – Legend Airways ‘Liberty’– N25641
- C-47B-5-DK 43-48608 – Betsy’s Biscuit Bomber– N47SJ
- C-47A-30-DL 42-23669/FD879 – Flabob Express– N103NA
- C-47B-1-DL 43-16340 – Pan Am – N877MG
- C-47A-15-DK 42-92847 – That’s All, Brother– N47TB
- C-47-DL 41-18401 – 101st Airborne Tribute–N150D
- C-47A-60-DL 43-30647 – Virginia Ann– N62CC
- DC-3-201 N18121 (Rare, original DC-3A)

See the website link for details of the individual aircraft and D Day Squadron: http://ddaysquadron.org/the-mighty-fift ... merican-co…/

that will be quite a sight at Old Warden

I'm having serious problems with 'Sage Pay' while trying to pay for an advance ticket. I don't know whether I have ticket or not as the server timed out before Sage Pay confirmed. I think I'll give it a miss.

Edit: I haven't had a confirmation email so I doubt if I have a ticket, but I'm having much the same problems on my phone so I'm definitely going to give up. If it's not possible to trust an online booking system it's best to move on.

Given the (relative) proximity of Duxford to Old Warden I had wondered if there was the chance of a flypast from one or more of the Daks participants?

My hope for a flypast has been surpassed and then some! I'm going to Daks as well, but it will be wonderful to see so many at OW.
