strange routing when stoke - warrington - st. helens - chester - liverpool - southport - blackpool would seemingly be easier / straighter?

There`s something not quite right with that video. The road sign that is hit by the Su27 just doesn`t seem real.

Perhaps because it just crumpled so quickly. In one frame it’s there, the next it’s wrapped around the intake.

The actual vid plus aftermath images:

It's me or the highway rail is between the legs of the Su-27 in the first seconds of the video ?

You are correct. The Su-27 straddles the rail. It appears that the pilot landed short.

Apparently the same location where you can see the area where the Su-27 straddles the barrier.

Not sure if this has been posted but the first flight of a scale model of the Flying V took place this week. Could this be the future of air travel?

Typhoon's new radar is detailed at:

Seems to have very little in common with the Kuwait/Qatar or German/Spanish Eurofighter AESA radars.....

Yesterday RAF Mildenhall's 100ARW performed an 11 strong elephant walk before launching an 8 ship minimum interval operational launch with 3 more following a little later. A very impressive sight that would have been so much better in half decent weather - the aircraft rapidly disappeared into the 200' cloudbase! Very weird to see the base bereft of tankers!

Having only seen 1 skyhawk fly (Whitmund for the last flight of the Phantoms a few years back), that one did howl. and i put it down to drop tanks causing the air to crate a howl as i couldnt think what else is was.

I know someone will have an answer, and wouldnt it be nice to hear that howl above gloucestershire sometime?

Very strong FAA representation (even more than usual) in the RN Peregrine trophy this year.

That would have looked futuristic in 1961.
