Wilf Hardy Programme Art Cards

Post by profile_M »

Hi,

I've just posted some interesting Wilf Hardy airshow programme art cards on ebay and suddenly thought someone on here might be interested. Here's the link:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333231569093

Should have posted here before ebay but didn't think. Also, if anyone knows anything about them I'd love to know what they are i.e. why were they produced? My best guess is some sort of promotional material but I've never seen these cards before so I have no idea.

Thanks

Martyn

I think they are Finningley (camo jets 1983 and Reds 1992) and Waddington (Thunderbirds 2000 and Lancaster 2002) posters/programme covers.

I've never seen anything like this before - the poster artwork without the text overlay. We need to consult st24!

Of yes, he will fondly remember the Lincoln Cathedral flypast at Waddo

That Lancaster pilot will get a serious shock in a few seconds when the B-1 hurtles past as well :hide: :ghost:

 yes, the "speed" marks on the cathedral raised much merriment.. "for the first and larst time... tolling now..." (see what I did there ?!)
Spot on with the dates Nige, I've always liked the Finningley '83 one, despite the Lanc having a 150' span, dwarfing the Herc at the end if the Reds line up!! Incidentally, possibly the only cover I can recall where the Reds are on the deck and not in the air.
