Really looking forward to this show, reminds me a bit of a USAF Yeovilton, Las Vegas is somewhat more attractive than Yeovil though.

As someone born, educated and trained in Yeovil/Yeovilton I say how dare you! Also, you’re right.

But, do they have sheep in Vegas?
You have to pay for your 'experience' in Vegas! (allegedly ) Just remember that 'what happens in Yeovil, stays in Yeovil'

I happened in Yeovil, then left as soon as possible.

On a more serious note, Draken International often provide a few statics. The last time I went in 2016 they had an A-4, ALCA and an MB-339 out. I wonder if they might debut the Mirage F1 this year, that would be cool.

ATAC have bought the F.1s, not Draken.

Draken say they have 22 ex-Spanish F1M aircraft on their website.

Excellent
My first time attending, is it worth getting the premium box seats or are there better options for photography please?

Definitely don’t get the premium seats, the crowd line has a cut out where the thunderbirds park and the seats are behind there. A great view for the Thunderbirds ground show, but not much else. Either stake out a place by the side of the commentary box for crowd centre or stay at the end where you come in for where aircraft bank towards the crowd line to go round the back of the show. This is also where flares are released during the home team demo. The crowd line doesn’t fill up straight away so there’s no great hurry.

Brilliant, thank you for the tips Paul. I'm going for it this year with RIAT then Gdynia then Jersey but so looking forward to rounding it all off at Nellis!

Hey, so i'm looking at making this my first ever abroad show as we have a vegas office. So can do 1 week for the show and 1 week working out there.
Because I have never been abroad before outside of Europe, do I need a visa?
• Is there a shuttle bus to the show and where from?
• In the time i'm there, how would I get to death canyon?
Sorry for being such a novice.

No Visa but you need an ESTA: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/
And presumably you mean Star Wars Canyon, it's a 3hr drive.

Thank you and indeed, but slight problem is I don't drive
Might have to give that a miss then!

There is a shuttle bus from the Speedway, a fairly short Uber ride away from the strip/downtown.

Not driving in the US is a pin in the butt. Make sure you do all your research on getting around before you go.

As other have said.. You will find it very hard to get anywhere outside of the strip without driving.. Nellis AFB alone is 18 miles from Mccarran Airport, even with Uber that is a $30 trip each way. But during Airshow days may be more as the traffic is a lot worse. One way in and One way out.
There is a Shuttle but it runs from the speedway, again 18 Miles from Tropicana and Vegas Blvd. So you have to make your own way to the Speedway.
Lastly.. Without a car or someone you may know going out to the Canyon. Forget it, It is 180 Miles one way. I doubt even Uber would go that far. (Plus on top of that... my realistic opinion) I don't think C to J will ever be open again except for high Alt transitions. So I wouldn't plan your trip around visiting there just in case.
Re: Aviation Nation '19- 16th & 17th November
I attended the Sunday in 2017 while at a conference on the strip...no car.
Excellent airshow - great participation & very dynamic flying - unbelievable & open access to the static & - friendly locals - good commentary - good quality static - good pyro's
I took an Uber both ways about 18GBP one-way....dropped off & picked up at the Speedway car park - very obvious - no traffic queues...efficient and free shuttle.
Back at the strip it was LV marathon so fqaced some traffic so got dropped on the strip and walked back to the hotel to save time.
Do it. Take a hat.
Hope it helps

The FJ-4 Fury and the prospect of three (!) F-86s would be enough to tempt me. A bit of a long drive from the Penal Colony, though.

That was a while ago now...same day the F-35 Demo said they were coming.
It's looking like I'll be driving down this year from Alberta. Hoping for some good weather from St George over the pass so I can unload the motorcycle from the truck and ride through the valleys to Vegas...might ride out to SWC on the Thursday, but not for planes since it's quiet there at the moment on account of the incident. Great roads out around SWC for riding if the weather is decent.
