Hmm let's see....

For starters.... wall to wall sunshine.

Taking account of VE day and it being a Farnborough year, I'd like to see the following - don't care if flying or static.

KC-390
A400M
Typhoon
Rafale
F/A-18E/F
Gripen E
M-346
FC-1
P-1
C-2
F-35A Solo
F-35B Solo
VE Day Heritage Flight - Typhoon + Spit and F-35A + Mustang - 4 ship display
Super Tucano (dare I say Fumaca?)
J-10 (August 1st)
B-1B
Su-27
C-17
Canadian SAR Buffalo (whilst they still exist)
MC-12

I'd be thrilled if the Su-27s came back, but something else from Ukraine would be stunning, a Fencer or Frogfoot would be out of this world. I know they've got shorter legs and fuel stops would be required etc... but a bit of effort and goodwill could make it happen!

A Mig-29 is always welcome too. The Slovak demo would be good.

But really, what I want to see again is that Romanian MiG-21 demo again. Just pure aviation perfection!

The nearly-but-not-quite Bulgarian Su-25s would be a dream.

I didn't know there was a nearly-but-not-quite story relating to Bulgarian Su-25s?! Have the Bulgarians been a tattoo before? I remember them talking about their attendance in close-to-certain terms in the '90s, but I don't recall anything ever happening.

I generally ask for the same most years
Polish Navy SH-2
Something carrier based from the USN in CAG scheme
Something different from the French , DHC-6, PC-21, C-160 etc
Swedish historic flight
The Jordanians bring something different
A new country like Mexico or Bangladesh
Anything from Africa
Spanish Typhoon/ F-5/Casa 101
of course the Iranian F-14's have to turn up one year, LOL!

2020 marks the 100th Anniversary of the first RAF/military air show, certainly in the UK, the Hendon Aerial Pageant? I wonder what the RAF will do for that?

Tiny bit harsh for their 100th don't you think? The RAF static at RIAT 2018 was pretty impressive and the flypast in London wasn't bad, when you consider what we have available these days, nor would it have been at RIAT had it happened.

The Trenchard+ formation? One of the top airshow moments of the last ten years, surely?

Agreed. The RAF pulled off RAF100 pretty well IMO. Typhoon diamond nine, 617 Squadron flypasts, London flypast, RIAT static, flypasts at Cosford, etc. There really wasn’t much more that the RAF could’ve done, I think that people just like to focus on the awful tail sticker instead of the overwhelming positives of last year.

No, as good as the 100 Typhoon formation was, the RAF 100 was one massive anti climax.

Again, i offer you the Trenchard+ display as further evidence to the contrary, also think about the static display at RIAT/Cosford... What else could have been there, realistically?

Anyway, that's not for this thread, apologies.

As it's the anniversary of the nuclear weapons era, a bit of lateral thinking.....
NATO/SEATO Vs USSR/PRC

You could then effectively have various 'fly-offs' between similar aircraft.....
F-22 & MIG-29OVT / Su-30, F-35 & J-20 / Su-57, B-1b & Tu-22M, F-15 & Su-27, A-10 & Su-25, etc.

On that note, FiFi and Doc (the 2 B-29s) in formation and the pyro crew letting off a BIG explosion which turns into a mushroom.
(For those who think the mushroom cloud can only be formed by a nuclear (or atomic) explosion I once saw the effect at a Finningley show and have a photo somewhere.)

Please try and find that photo Ian, I sure would like to see it being a former Finningley Pilgrim from age 1year!

1. a) A different PR team or

1. b) A social media post proofreader who is >8 years old.

2. Aeroplanes. Loads of them.

3. Ferris wheels. None of them.

4. Actual aircraft wishes:

Some sort of WW2 flypast to mark VE day anniversary - including Sally B, BBMF, lots of the zillions of warbirds we are fortunate enough to have in the UK.

A return of the Spanish Harriers.

A return of the Romanian MiG-21s.

F-35 (f)
F-22 (f)
C-27j (Italian job) (f)
A Tornado from somewhere (f)

And while we're at it, and because it's a wish list n'all...

Russian TU-95 (f) and (s)
Iranian Tomcats (f) and (s)
Indian Jaguars (f) and (s)
South Korean Phantoms (f) and (s) (cos the Greek and Turkish ones are getting so :sleepy: nowadays...)

Who knows what next year will bring, hopefully some of the following....
1- Return to proper Thursday updates.
2- More focus on the aircraft rather than the other stuff.
3- More enthusiast related and less corporate feel.
4- If you have to book something from Sywell make it the Ultimate Fighters team!
5- Hopefully a good turnout from the foreign airforces to represent BofB 80th
6- A damn good set piece with lots of Buchons, Spitfires and pyro's!
7- Some decent weather! Which maybe should be no1.
8- As for actual aircraft MiG-29, Su-22, Rafale, F-22 and maybe some mixed formations if there are warbirds representing the Polish and American contributions to the BofB should that of course be a theme. Something that was done very well at Cosford with the MiG-29 and Hurricane.
