I was also at Brunty in 2015, I had helped set the shoot up to help the tea bag team. I could not stay as I was working on Lindy the day after Also not being a fan of re enactors in night shoots I got a few different angles before I left.

2012 saw me do a 2 day visit to Brize. The entire first day was taken up travelling. What should have taken 3 hours took 10! due to horrible wet weather, flooding everywhere. We got there with about 40 mins of light and we decided to check out if anything was flying.

This was leaving Brize village down to the base.

Image

Aircraft were in the circuit and has you can see the weather changed drastically for the better.
Image

Image

The sun was setting and for 5 mins the light as like this.
Image

Image

Image

Image

Next circuit the light faded
Image

One more circuit back to normal.

Image

Image

Image

Only 45 mins of shooting but very lucky with the light!

Sad day yet I and several thousand other people came to see hms illustrious arrive in grand harbour, malta for a visit. It was returning back to Portsmouth after the very last tour with the sea harriers which were due to be taken out of service. Too early to be honest.

Back in 2013 I was at Elvington on day 2 of our preparations for the 20th Anniversary run of Lindy's Delivery and ownership by Andre Tempest.

In the morning we moved her onto the airfield.

The traditional way of packing the parachute!

As it was the first time since our recent repaint that she was on the airfield, I set up the lights for a night shoot for the team and a few friends who helped us that day.

Back to 2013. Run day at Elvington. The 20th Anniversary event Of Lindy's arrival at Elvington. It was a big one with a lot of press and Tv media present.

Some of the media did not quite know what they were covering, these two asking why the "parachute" was hanging out the back of the bomb!
Image

Squadron leader Al Stevenson our AEO rightly getting TV attention.
Image

For the run itself we had a guest second AEO namely Mick Beer, Who was Bob Tuxford AEO on Black buck 1
Image

Andre her owner in the co pilot's seat.
Image

Image

Image

To re enact the arrival She taxied down to the bottom end which is the end she landed at. 2.00 PM brakes off for the run. the time she did her final landing.
Image

Image

Image

Today is of course her 27th Anniversary, Well done Andre for keeping a part of British aviation Heritage alive and active long may this continue!

Seconded. Always good to see "behind the fence" as it were. Haven't seen many photos taken inside a Victor cockpit so nice to see them as well as those great runway shots.

Thanks to both of you. I am going to put a more detailed thread in oldies later. The runway shot is one of my favourite shots. I was tasked to cover the event in more detail than normal. The shots in the QRA pan with her moving was done with safety in mind no one is allowed in the area when taxing. So we set up a "safe Zone" for me behind equipment. The runway shot is special as its not from the end of the runway but actually on the runway centre line! It was all pre briefed and obviously using a long lens. Once she passed a certain point I moved whether I got the shot or not!

Here are a couple of my pics of the day. I was very lucky enough to be a guest on the run so I documented everything i could.

I thought this pic looked better in Black and white

The day would not have happened withough Andre and the team.

A little nod to Andres dad, Gerry who helped buy and run Lindy. Alas he died earlier in that year. his flight suit was on the Victors run. Dedicated to Gerry Tempest.

Engine starting and running, you can just make the Nimrod wing bejind as she went for her run that day.

Another colour head on shot. Its remarkable how futuristic she still looks.
ImageIMG_4578 by andrew abbott, on Flickr
