Miami 2020

Post by Disaster Area »

I was fortunate enough to get a visit to Miami in prior to the current restrictions. Main visit was to catch the numerous business jets visiting the Miami area in connection with the Superbowl being held at the Hard Rock Stadium.

We based ourselves close to Miami airport and each day typically began and finished with a visit to one of the numerous areas at the airport that allow for great photography. Those of you that have visited will know the areas known as 'the Holes' and also El Dorado. Predominantly Miami is a major American Airlines hub but there is also a nice assortment of other carriers not to mention the big freight operation that occurs here.

I've included a few different American Airline types in my images but I hope the images will give you an idea of what can be seen on an ordinary day.

A fine collection of images, Chris. My faves are the freighters and that airport has always been good for freighters, particularly back in the day of propliners. My wife and I were there about five years ago, on the way down to the Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, but I only got to the airport for a few hours to fly a 727 sim. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,

George

Fantastic photos Chris. The shutter speed on some of those for such long focal length is relatively slow, cracking job getting them so pin sharp - well done . I really need to get back there when all this Covid issue is over and done with
