I thought I'd take the opportunity to dust off the old time machine and remind myself about the show. This selection concentrates on on types that aren't around anymore, together with the odd reminder of how long some current types have been around.

Re: RIAT 2001
Great stuff. It is to my eternal regret that I missed both of the Cottesmore years. For reasons that were important at the time of course, but still, I regret not doing a RIAT there.
Some very juicy participants there Andy, great to see. Its very sobering to see an RAF C-17, I'd never have thought they'd been with us that long. And wouldn't it be nice to see the Polish Iskra team back once more.

Re: RIAT 2001
Nice set. For some reason I didn't do the 2001 show although I did go up on the Monday to see some of the departures. Maybe I'll find the slides I took that day and get them scanned. IIRC I shot them on medium format - a bit of an expensive exercise.

Re: RIAT 2001
Top stuff Andy, both Cottesmore's were great shows, the first was blessed with great weather on arrivals but the show days were clagged and cold. The second had some great spells of good weather on arrivals and departures with a bit of cloud from time to time but at least some decent show day weather.
Romanians debut in 2001, sadly their star turn didn't make it suffering an unfortunate accident while practising a couple of weeks prior to the show. Checkerboard Hornet was a star turn. Maltese only IAT appearance so far as well.

Thanks for the kind comments chaps. Here are a few more including a couple of the Polish Iskras (only on the ground). By and large my photos of the flying are pretty poor
Your images from a medium format camera should be worth waiting for
Starting with a real rarity - I think the USAF had only 4 of these
