1:32 BAe Hawk T1A 100 Squadron RAF

Post by FarnboroJohn »

Some years ago my brother was fortunate enough to fly with 100 Squadron in XX194 and recently decided he would like a model of the aircraft to memorialise the event. I offered to provide the kit (Revell 1:32 Red Arrows Hawk) and some aftermarket (Xtradecal sheets for the specific aircraft and a million tiny stencils, plus new cockpit and ejection seats).

Although a modeller in his youth he now hasn't the time or patience so I then offered to build it as well. The results are below. The PE seatbelts nearly broke me they were so fiddly but otherwise there were few problems. Gloss however is a lot less forgiving than a matt finish!

Thank you! He absolutely was. You should have heard him explaining to his seven year old son the consequences of touching it rather than looking at it.... in the interests of safety maybe I'd better make Max a 1:72 one!
