Dusting off the scanner

Post by capercaillie »

Ages since I scanned so hoping these look OK, US Navy Test Pilots School NP-3D Orion at Boscombe Down in 2000 and a photocall at Coltishall the same year with Polish Su22s among others.

Hi Scott,

No problems. I'm using an Epson 4870 Perfection scanner. I had it some years ago and found it fairly slow at the time with the computer capacity back then. I planned to scan as much as possible back then of my slides, which now date from 1991 through to 2013, but it became sidelined with other priorities.

Getting it back out, its a bit quicker now with the newer computer and you can scan 8 slides at a time, touching out dust is the worst bit.

I'm quite pleased the way its scanned my Cottesmore slides, so a bit more practice and fine tuning and it should work out OK.

Cheers
Paul

Thanks Paul. I'll have a look at the 4870. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
