80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow Flying Programme

25th - 27th September 2020
Headcorn Aerodrome

We’re looking forward to commemorating the 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow at Headcorn Aerodrome

The show will be going ahead on 25th to 27th September with special measures in place to ensure the safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff while remaining confident that we will be able to deliver yet another fantastic family focussed airshow.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be releasing the exciting and action filled display schedule for the now three day event. We are pleased to announce the first display act confirmed for the 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow:

Display Item 1: The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF).

The BBMF have been approved to work-up a special display to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain called the ‘Dowding Display’.

The’ Dowding Display’, consists 5 aircraft which includes the Avro Lancaster bomber, Spitfires and Hurricanes.

Display Item 2: The Bi-Plane Display!

The display will open with an exciting 8-ship balbo before a series of formation and solo routines from Michael and the Stampe Display team.

The display aircraft will be:
  • The Aero Legends Thruxton Jackaroo
  • Both Aero Legends de Havilland Tiger Moths
  • The Stampe Display Team providing four of their Stampe SV4 aircraft
  • Michael Pickin and his Bucker Jungmann
Display Item 3: The Fighters

Earlier this month we were delighted to confirm The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) who will be performing The’ Dowding Display’, consisting of the Avro Lancaster bomber, three Spitfires and a Hurricane.

Not enough? We didn’t think so either.

So confirmed as display act 3 will be the fighters, consisting of:
  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk I N3200
  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX TD314
  • Supermarine Spitfire Mk TIX NH341
  • Hawker Hurricane R4118
  • Hawker Hurricane P3717
  • Hispano Buchon BF109
Display Item 4:

Both Aero Legends C47 Dakotas confirmed for the 80th Anniversary Battle of Britain Airshow line up.

To date we have confirmed 7 Bi-planes, 6 Spitfires, 3 Hurricanes, a BF109 and the mighty Lancaster bomber for all 3 days of the Battle of Britain Airshow at Headcorn Aerodrome on the 25th - 27th September.

BUT! We wanted more..

So confirmed as display act 4 will be both Aero Legends C47 Dakotas - ‘Drag ‘em Oot’ and KP220 ‘Pegasus’. The aircraft will be flying together for the first time since the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.

Display Item 5: Soon to be announced

Display Item 6: Soon to be announced

I've been meaning to attend this show for a couple of years now but it's always clashed with something else. Looking forward to attending this year all being well. Hopefully the BBMF fighters operate from Headcorn like in the past.

Went to book them the other day, got distracted and forgot to book through Groupon.

Epic Fail ! :D

Although i honestly think after the news of Duxford this will be the same.

Quite surprised they didn't go for the drive-in option, i certainly think it would work there.

No, it's a fair price, I just love a bargain and they don't often come around in this game so I was a bit peeved to miss it but I've bought one at full price anyway.

Why? I doubt AL would make a public statement that its going ahead for then to be then shot down from great height if its cancelled. Im popping along Friday for a nice relaxed show without the weekend riffraff.
