Navy CAG E-2 in Shannon

Post by Anhedral »

Shannon airport is no longer known for its military movements but was blessed this weekend by the arrival of a US Navy E-2C Hawkeye that arrived from the US via Keflavik and departed the next day for the French Navy airfield at Cuers - Pierrefeu. Rumour has it that its a spares ship (possibly in connection with the recent E-2D and spares package order). Probably the military movement of the year for Shannon pity the weather chose to be grey and gloomy for arrival and departure.

Very nice !!!

But just for info it is not the CAG E-2 its a standard nicely painted VAW-124 squadron machine as indicated by the 604 modex the CAG machine carries the 600 modex It was coded 600 back in 2017 when GWB visited Portsmouth though
