48 hour photo competition - Star
Now here's one to let any idea come to mind, you can choose anything star related - name of aircraft, squadrons, insignia, it can be an image featuring stars, it can be a display manoeuvre, best original idea combined with a top image wins. Just to make it more interesting no US star and bar as the reason for inclusion - doesn't mean it can't be a US military aircraft. Three images per entry.
This one counts twice

My "three"pennyworth, coincidentally all taken at the 1978 Mildenhall show. Lockheed were big into Star aircraft giving quite a selection to choose from.

Re: 48 hour photo competition - Star
Another great one to get the grey matter going.
First up, a Great Bear with a very big star (and two others behind also sporting them, although out of view).
Then we have a Galaxy swallowing Ursa Minor (the 'Little Bear', aka a Cub).
Stars on the wing. Everyone's favourite!

Re: 48 hour photo competition - Star
Well some interesting entries again, Chris I think you are trying too hard - Gemini was fine on its own Good shot as well.
I liked Mark's F-104 and had you not clipped the tailplane that may have won, Nick fabulous as usual with the California F-15 and I like Any's bravery with the Nimrod starscape.
However I like the speed and motion in Andy Heap's P-40, so that's my winner - over to you Andy.

Re: 48 hour photo competition - Star
Cheers Paul,
I thought there were some very clever entry's!
The P-40 is actually the only still flying ex RNZAF example - (the RNZAF clocked up 99 kills against the Japanese in the South Pacific - before reequipping with the Corsair and not making any kills with the bent winged bird - lack of targets late in the war)
new subject up soon
