Not sure if this is the correct place to ask or if it belongs at all?
On the 25-26/6/42 a 50 Squadron Avro Manchester L7289 was lost near Bremen, Germany.
One of the crew, my wife's great Uncle Lawrence Chase Thompson.
In WWII twenty one men left the small island where I live to serve, "Uncle Larry" the only
person to not return. I am modelling a small RC Manchester as a tribute and trying to find
what squadron code this machine would have worn?
From my research I have found the squadron's codes where VN in red, finding this planes
letter is proving to be difficult? I would be grateful if someone with some knowledge in
this field may be able to point me in the right direction towards getting this information?
For the scale pursists I apologise, she was created by converting from a B25 Mitchell.
Thank you so much.........
Manchester Squadron codes?
Discussions regarding historic aircraft, restoration and preservation etc
