Really wish I could have seen some of the 'exotic' Raspberry Ripple schemed aircraft in the air, but sadly it's 3 static images from me.

So many to choose from, so as a "more senior" member of the group (polite version) I had a trawl thought the archives and came up with these...
Bassingbourn 1978

IAT 1985

IAT 1985

(I've also got a photo of her in pre-ripple colours from 1979 at Abingdon but as this was blue and white thought it probably wouldn't qualify)🙂

I'll take a punt that the competition is about the colour scheme - not just aircraft operated my MOD(PE)!

Don’t see many down the bottom of the planet and not sure if civil aeroplanes in
this scheme count, she was flown by serving RAF crew! Flight was conducted
as part of the 100 years of RAF commemoration.

Seeing the quality on show have gone for subjects of possible historical interest.

The fly-by-wire Jaguar at Farnborough, 1984.

Perhaps the biggest seen in the 'raspberry ripple' scheme, BAC-111, at Greenham Common 1983.

its up there Norman, the Comet 4 from Farnborough is the holder of the record though. Loved the Jaguar ACT, shame it wasn't 10 years later, I may have got something half decent myself of it then. Great to see.

I worked at the RAE for a year 1986-87 and on my first day the first aircraft I saw fly was the Comet - then never saw it move again!
As an aside anyone have a list of what aircraft were based at the RAE at that time?
There was stacks of retired Varsity's, Canberra's and Wessex's etc stored in the hanger that also lodged the gliding clubs aircraft.
Very long shot but does anyone have any photos of the RAE gliding club aircraft - especially the ASK-13 '199' - first aircraft I soloed!

Thanks Andy

Of course, the Comet. <slap head> Going back through my photos, I have a half-view of it at the 1993 Fairford, poking into a picture of a Tornado. Sadly didn't bother to take one on its own.

As we eagerly await the next comp, and with the raspberry ripple closed, I hope no one minds if I post a couple of images I had scanned but not included (due to the rule of 3) in case they were of interest.

Jaguar (from its best angle I think) at Fairford 1993
