North Weald to be covered in lorries?

Post by Berf »

Seems the government has announced that North Weald will be a lorry park to cope with the post Brexit chaos...

Unless plans have changed, it's just the north east corner of the airfield. It was ready for the original 31st March 2019 date IIRC (or maybe it was one of the other deadlines, I can't remember) - it's certainly been prepped for a while anyway.

It occupies land around the exit gate that was used for the Saturday market, so the traffic flow for that has been altered for a while but other than that there's been no real impact on the airfield yet.

The police use it so you'd imagine they would keep the airfield operational for them surely?
