48 Hr Photo Comp: Pilot Headgear
Choosing a subject matter that hasn't't been already covered is getting harder. Still as a fan of Pilot headgear I thought as a competition subject matter it may tax a few, or maybe not.
Below are 3 examples of mine but it is a wide ranging subject matter where an individual's imaginative take on the competition could well be the winner. Maximum of 3 pics please and the Pilot's Headgear may or may not include the pilot/aircraft, good luck all.

Tough one indeed!
I don't have many that fit the bill..

And I've never been one to be accused of being within of decade or two of sporting the latest fashion.
But reckon my trusty gliding hat (probably bought for all of 10 bucks from K -Mart!) might put me in with a shout.
Sorry to show the ugly head its sat upon!

check out these three, ready for a night refueling misson. this was the eve of the 20th Anniversary of Lindy landing at Elvington. Here we have Andre and Ollie, who really is a Fighter Pilot, at the moment with 4 Sqn as an instructor at RAF Valley.

Actually had quite a few more for this than I realised, but narrowed it down to these three:

Challenging and interesting theme.
Great entries so far.
Will thus go for originality.

Re: 48 Hr Photo Comp: Pilot Headgear
Dear All, I am genuinely surprised at the quality of the submissions to an unusual brief (I felt). This has been hard to judge and I will spare you all my crossed out list and numbers which as I look means the list of final 3 has changed at least 5 times.
Still ultimately it is about personal preference but thanks to all the submissions for an unusual brief-
Special mention for Nick's 302 Hikotai-the juxtaposition of headgear and almost cartoon models is eye-catching. Also special mention of LN Strike Eagle Shuttleworth which captures for me the earliest pilot headgear.
3rd-Andy Shaw Lim 2 which merits a double take and close look-is the pilot clutching a padded cushion-rather than the well painted Mig helmet perched behind the seat
2nd-Wrexham Mackem for the double pilot headgear with the 19(R) helmet resting on the dress blue cap-well caught sir
1st-Andy Heap (Andyph) for having the nerve to wear the HAKA sun cap-oh and an imaginative take on the brief and an unusual aviation pic-Andy over to you

Cheers Pete,
Thought I'd have a laugh against all the super cool bright painted bone domes!
New subject will appear as soon as I think of one!
