Its a great shot (I'm jealous), from 1985's arrival or departure I believe so it wasn't during an air display however which I thought is what Nigel is really after.
Maybe I've misinterpreted?

That was my understanding too, I deliberately didn't submit some pics as they weren't taken at a show.capercaillie wrote: ↑Wed 04 Nov 2020, 3:32 pmIts a great shot (I'm jealous), from 1985's arrival or departure I believe so it wasn't during an air display however which I thought is what Nigel is really after.

I think you'd have to be churlish to say a photo taken at an airshow venue, the day that practice displays, arrivals etc are taking place for an airshow - and to which members of the public have paid entrance money - aren't "airshow action" photographs!
I mean, to be really pedantic, Mildenhall should be out - it's an "air fete" and Greenham Common and Fairford are of course "air tattoos". Not airshows!

It won't be a winner in this competition as apparently some were unhappy that it wasn't at an airshow. Changed for one that is.

Derek, sorry that is totally stupid. To me that's airshow magic.
Life's a piece of S*** if you look at it!

A highlight for a warbird fan to get to travel from the other side of the world
and be present at Flying Legends 2018.
This years theme the filming of the Battle of Britain film, a lot of which was
shot at Duxford. To see aeroplanes that flew in the battle and the film was
fantastic.
One of the highlights to see a DC6 thrown around the sky.
Multiple warbirds in the sky, something we don’t get to see at home.

There are some great images here, there really are. Unfortunately, I've given myself a nightmare to judge it. I've changed my mind three times in the last ten minutes.
Its Tuckat, with the Swiss pair. Now I'll hit submit before I change my mind again.
Great submissions one and all, aren't airshows brilliant?

Thanks Nigel, very kind of you given the quality of images on offer. Very difficult to now think of a new topic, give me a couple of hours.....and a glass or two of wine!
