RIAT 50th Anniversary Book

Post by boff180 »

2021 will be the 50 Anniversary of IAT/RIAT and as part of the commemorations, they are publishing a book chronicling the story of the show.

It's currently available for pre-order priced at £30.

A lot of work has gone into the book by some very knowledgeable people, including Ben Dunnell - it's worth a look.

It has been available for pre-orders for at least a month already.

I just checked, my pre-order dates from October 5, when I found out while browsing DBH's shop. That doesn't mean it wasn't available before that date.

Interesting to know from the preview DBH mailed in a newsletter, is that they are using the old emblem of the show in the book. Will they start to use that one again? (a bit like NASA starting to re-use the worm instead of the meatball)

Shame about the steep postage.
I think that's the sheer size and weight of it.

Strange tho' that if you order 2 (as a friend and I did) that you pay postage twice too! Cheeky!! According to the Post office website a parcel up to 2kg can be sent 2nd class for £4.10..Work that one out..
And I would assume if you're sending out that many books you'd get a good deal on that price too..?

With the two year hiatus I haven't been around here as I'd probably get told off for my irreverent sense of humour (again) but I'd just like to say that for those of you who haven't got the book yet, it's pretty good and with its weight it also fills in for when I'm pressing wild flowers...

That’s offensive against flowers, mavvymoo. Off you go for another 24 months!

(Kidding - good to see you back, and sentiments echoed - it’s a great book!)
