JSDF 301squadron gone?

Post by HeyfordDave111 »

Just had a pop up of my face thingy to say that yesterday was the last day for the JASDF 301 squadron Flying the F-4 finished yesterday?

Am i having a 'mandella' moment or did it finish?

Either way, anyone know if the test F-4 will be finishing flying once it's all over?

Past 2 weeks has seen a tour of Japan by the 2 special scheme jets. This finished on Tuesday from what I can gather from Japanese spotters.

Haven’t seen a specific posting that the squadron has stopped flying yet, but they are due to stop before the end of the month.

I think the test squadron at Gifu’s F-4’s might be flying for another few months yet.

So that leaves Turkey, Greece, Iran and South Korea as the remaining operators. Wikipedia seems to think the Egyptians ones are held in reserve, but you can't imagine they'll ever be used again.

There's also one (?) privately owned F-4 flying in the US, isn't there?

JASDF PAO just put this on twitter.

10am Japan Time 20th November on their YouTube channel.

Not sure but it might be a live stream of the final Phantom flights.
