48 Hours Photo Comp - Just Deserts
OK, here we go.
I'd like to see you best or favourite photos of desert camouflage aircraft, current or historic, fixed wing or rotary. 3 pics per person.
Just to be clear these are aircraft in proper desert schemes (sand, stone, earth etc) not just aircraft of Middle East nations. And SE Asia schemes and RAF Hemp (Victor, VC10, Nimrod, Canberra) do not count.

Typical isn't it. When I eventually took pics of a Saudi tornado.. They were grey.

1.
2.
3. I guess it's the only one Polish Su-22 in this test camo (with a lot of small birds in the background)
Bonus:
Is it regular or desert camo of this Skeeter?

Re: 48 Hours Photo Comp - Just Deserts
Three shots of the same aircraft from me. A bit of a favourite with the uncommon four cannon fit and the desert scheme.
First an oldish one when it still had the Vokes filter. Pity it doesn't still.....
2007_07_08_Duxford_Spitfire Vc(Trop) by John Dixon, on Flickr
Then a topside:
20180715 (108)_JG891_Supermarine_Spitfire_Vc by John Dixon, on Flickr
Again minus Vokes filter, making black smoke at RIAT.
20180714 (63)_JG891_Supermarine_Spitfire_Vc by John Dixon, on Flickr
Late edit: I've just noticed that in respraying between photo 1 and 2 the scheme has been flipped - mirrored - both schemes depict the same aircraft, only one can be right!

Re: 48 Hours Photo Comp - Just Deserts
I've gone for three modern military entries, as the warbirds in gorgeous desert colour schemes have already been covered in spectacular style.
Starting with a jet specially painted for the Mirage F1 retirement from French Air Force service, as I'm too young to have ever shot these in genuine desert colours. We arrived late to the spotters day so I never actually got to shoot this airframe in action, but lucky they positioned all the jets well for photography during the farewell ceremony.
Not many helicopters featuring in the thread so far, which encouraged me to post this Cougar. The Chilean Army uses a three-tone camouflage pattern on their helicopter fleets but I'm going to stick my neck out and say it's desert camouflage as it's got plenty of sand colour on show and the aircraft operate in and around the Atacama Desert.
And finally, no points for a bland static photograph with a sandstorm rolling in, but the Hawk Mk.102 does look awesome in the two-tone sand camouflage of the United Arab Emirates Air Force. Interesting that many of use consider the Hawk T2 as a fairly new aircraft, yet these machines were delivered to Abu Dhabi way back in 1994.

Re: 48 Hours Photo Comp - Just Deserts
Some lovely entries all round, many things I'd love to see CR42 is cracking, Moroccan F-16 - ooooph, desert aggressor Eagle and especially Derek's C-130, my first Mildenhall was 1986 so I missed that one but remember it on Holiday Air 1984 on the BBC!
Special mentions to Mustang's lovely shot of MK356, Nigel's low departing Gulf War Tornado and the Chilean Cougar from Peter but my overall winner is the fab low level F-18 in its perfect environment so well done and over to Melvin for the next round.
