24 years ago, after reading a news about this forthcoming event in my french "Fana de l'Aviation" magazine, I packed my manual Fujica STX-1, with its 80-200mm, a doubler and a batch of (unfortunately) 400 or even 800 ISO rolls.
How I was able to plan my trip in these pre-Internet days, without "how to get there" website pages, satellite maps and detailled timetables, I can't remember exactly.
The train took me first below the Channel and then to Cambridge. The last leg by a bus shuttle got me to Duxford, the Spitfire Mecca, where 46 Spitfire were announced.
Remaining memories of this outstanding day are contained in the following pictures (sorry again for the grainy result), and a autographed copy of "Spitfire Legend", by John Dibbs and Tony Holmes:

I did like that scheme on the Blenheim.

Some absolute gems there - thanks for posting!
The original Plane Sailing Catalina, the Kingcobra, Black 6, my favourite Gladiator scheme, and I think that looks like Mark Hanna in '434. I seem to remember it being a great day!
It was also the first air display I persuaded my then fiancé to attend - she hasn't been to many since, but she still lets me out to play occasionally!

I know this is from a year ago but I didn't catch it that time round!
What a fantastic event this was. Does stick out in my mind of all the airshows I went to in the 90's.
A lot of missed warbirds in that section too. And I must admit to missing the Blenheim with the longer nose.
