Cosford Airshow 2022

Post by Light Chop »

Given that since the cancellation of the 2021 event there has been no news of a return in 2022, is it to be assumed that there won't be a RAF Cosford Airshow 2022 either?

Anyone heard/seen anything to suggest otherwise?

Keep an eye on our social media for further announcements on ticket sales or sign up to our e-newsletter here.
And been deathly silent ever since? Anyone know if the airshow office staff are still working?

I could see them getting active again when tickets go on sale. The issue with events like Airshows, social media can sometimes be slow. A lot of shows only post when they have news.

Bit strange their FB/Twitter hasn't said the dates yet, maybe waiting for an official launch of the 2022 show so date might still be provisional awaiting final confirmation.

Just had a message back from the airshow facebook page "Hi Cole, we are planning the 2022 show to take place on Sunday 12th June"

So it seems it still is on as of now, and the 2 day format is out the window again..Maybe one day when things are better

We are so excited to announce our much-anticipated return to the skies on Sunday 12th June 2022!

Telling a 70-year story of aviation and royalty, our grand return will celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022.

Tickets are on sale now! Available online via the RAF Cosford Air Show website. Standard adult tickets will cost £34 with under 16s and parking free.

All ticketholders from the cancelled 2020 RAF Cosford Air Show, who did not request a refund, will be carried over to the 2022 Air Show. New tickets will automatically be emailed out to these customers in due course.

If you have any ticket queries, go to https://cosfordairshow.seetickets.com/customerservice and complete the online form.

Looking good that at least this point the show is going ahead but that could all change. Let’s hope for two F-35 landing at Cosford lol with a nod back to the days of two Harriers operating out of the base on show day 😀👍

Great to see this show come back!
Hotel room and Cosford Club tickets booked (splashing out as we can't make RIAT this year).

Will be the first show I've attended since RIAT 2019!

Just hoping that Network Rail don't decide it's a great day to do engineering works.

Great to hear it will return, sadly can't make it. If it was the same weekend after the Queen's Jubilee flypast like usual then it would have been great, but I can't do two trips to England on consecutive weeks :(

Expect a tight squeeze on the train. I was last at Cosford in 2018 and the train just ran a regular service which was packed out by the time it hit Wolverhampton on both the outward and inward trip.

So, I actually am going to try and squeeze Cosford in after all as I am not doing Duxford in June.

Is the museum open on the Saturday, the day before the show as normal?

From memory it is, but it’s heaving, and I think Hangar 1 is shut because it’s open to the showground & being prepared.

The museum is also open to ticket holds on the sunday and in 2019 it was fairly quiet when i walked around as everyone was outside

Thanks, last time I went to Cosford Airshow I didn't get to the museum due to the Sunday service on trains from Birmingham. By the time I got there it was already 11am, by the time I got in 11.30am so I just went to get a seat in Cosford club.

Edit - Might stay in Wolverhampton this time, closer to Cosford with earlier trains.

Every other time I've booked tickets have been sent right away.

Yes, I think that's normal. You get an email 'print at home order', with pdf attached, later from SeeTickets. Don't take my work for it though, contact SeeTickets if in doubt, mine has been rolled over a couple of times so things may be different now.

Obviously it’s subject to participation, weather, etc but if you’re looking for a Saturday activity, the museum is of course great, but *if* it’s full, or closed or whatever, the train platform offers a pretty decent and elevated/unobstructed view of arrivals on approach & practice displays.

The sun’s position is not ideal, but one could do a lot worse.

Thanks, had a minor anxiety attack with no tickets on the confirmation after website said they would come with confirmation lol. But I forgot even RIAT is doing it this way now. Last I booked Cosford in 2019 tickets came right away.

Looks like museum is open, tickets for booking are available for the Saturday at the museum so was able to get one on the website.
