Sad to see them like that :( Loved the Tri-Star. Is that a VC-10 beside them?

I know that it's not possible to save every type but it would be nice to see 1 RAF Tristar preserved!

Wondered what they would look like in good old RAF green and grey camo.

Gone downhill pretty quick.

Looks like ZD951 is next in line for scrapping, the '30 years' markings on the tail are still visible.

A sad ending for these aircraft. Images I took during a visit to Brunty back in 2018.

Pardon my ignorance (thank you...) but have these had their grey paint removed or is this just what happens if you leave your aircraft outside for long enough?

Algae and general crud. XT914 at Brampton was in a similar state until the Wattisham Phantom group got her undercover and cleaned.

We have similar issues at Newark. At the moment we're trialling an algaecide in small areas of the Vulcan as part of the preparations for the planned repaint!

Faded paint and the addition of various types of crud as mentioned. This photo was taken in March 2016, compare this with the 2018 shots above.

And again today, some panels on the tail gone, seems slow stripping/scrapping.
