Newark Air Museum Cockpitfest Weekend, 25-26/06/2022

Post by Blue_2 »

Slightly surprised to not have seen any other threads from Newark's excellent 'fest on here... So I thought I'd post the few pics I got. Some you may have already seen on the Meteor 788 thread, sorry not sorry!
On we go. Meteor ( I was always likely to start with a Meteor!) T.7 VZ634
Image
With Jindivik A92-708 for company
Image
The resident Vulcan, XM594, undergoing some major work
Image
The other Avro 'heavy' on site, Shackleton MR.3/3 WR977, in the company of HP Hastings TG517
Image
A visiting exhibit, very much live Westland Scout XV130
Image
Resident Buccaneer S.1 XN964
Image

Image
Her 'office'
Image
The call of the dayglo was too much!
Image
Recently repainted Canberra T.19 WH904
Image
Staying outdoors, time for another Meteor. This time NF.14 WS739
Image
Near which was parked visiting Piston Provost cockpit owned by Max Blood
Image
Back towards the hangars was visiting Shackleton VP293 "Zebedee"'s cockpit section. Makes a great viewpoint! Shack photographed from a Shack (not a common opportunity)
Image
It's behind the banana bomber. Trust me... Also from the Shack's starboard window, a view of some of the participants
Image
Into the hangar, past the guard labrador which looks like it ought to take the advice of its pal the German Shepherd and really lay off the recreational drugs!
Image
Have another Meteor. FR.9 (mod) VZ608
Image
Rich Woods' Boeing B-29 work in progress, accompanying my Lincoln and the WS788 display
Image
Oh look, another Meteor! This time the rather nice and unique surviving NF.12, WS692
Image

Image

Image
Near which could be found Darren Swinn and his son Karl's Lightning cockpit rig. And my Snoopy....
Image
Also over here a DH Chipmunk, and some ATC cadets in serious need of some sun! T.10 WB624
Image
A little further along, another proper rarity of a type was represented, Bristol Brigand cockpit rig
Image
Finally, Colin Savill and Ken Ellis with the resident T-33
Image
Just 2 of the team who work hard to bring this event to fruition! Apparently there's some shady bloke called Howard who dabbles around with the event too...
Anyway thanks Newark, see you for 'fest 2023 all being well!
Meteor WS788/ Chippy WK640 Restoration Project, YAM
Shack WR963, Coventry
Other types meddled with by request!

Another great set of photos that are much appreciated by a "shady bloke" who's still testing positive the moment!

Thank you - feeling OK but trying to do the right thing by limiting any contacts!
