Re: Red Kite
Like the first shot, they're impressively large birds.
I've noticed them as far east as Harlow but not yet seen any in Chelmsford.

Re: Red Kite
we get them regularly over Rayne Dan (I saw 2 together today), I think someone feeds them locally and I have seen them at Little Baddow and Broomfield so they are about. Stebbing and Bardfield are a bit of a hot spot for them in mid Essex, my daughter saw 5 there at the same time earlier this year.LN Strike Eagle wrote: ↑Fri 01 Jul 2022, 6:51 pmLike the first shot, they're impressively large birds.

I'll keep an eye out, I'm not far from Broomfield.

Re: Red Kite
There are loads of red kites in Hertfordshire. Pretty much a common as sparrows in my neck of the woods.

Re: Red Kite
I nearly always see them at Old Warden so will be watching for them tomorrow.
There are now over 4000 pairs in the UK and some chicks have just been taken to Spain for release which is full circle as the birds released in the Chilterns in 1990s came from Spain, odd that we now have more in the UK.
In 1992 I went to the Elan Valley in mid Wales to look for them as that was about the only place where they were still resident in the UK and so excited to see some. I think there were less than 100 in the UK then
