Not good at all for a show that so desperately needed them - really unfortunate. Hopefully next year will be better.

Sounds like it's becoming a category 5 disaster 😕. Do you think there will even be a show next year?

I bailed out after the Lynx display, I appreciate they’ve had bad luck today but it was looking weak to begin with so hope that next year is better.

Presumably it made enough money to justify another show if it sold out?

Even without cancellations this was pushing it to be described as an airshow with so many fly pasts.

Hope those who chose to go enjoy their £5 one scoop ice creams

Unfortunately when a line-up is so thin to begin with, losing a few items can drastically affect the show.

I know people will buy on the basis of Reds/Typhoon/BBMF but I can't think families would want to be sitting around looking at the sky all the while paying over the odds on food & drinks, etc.

Just my view, I'm not at the show so I hope some managed to enjoy themselves. The Pat Suisse are a treat really. Out of interest, did they use flares?

Cosford and Abingdon just not worth it now for me. It's Fairford only and far better money spent on long weekends away in Europe. Look at Belgium and Sliac in Slovakia and what they pull in every single year. Entrance fees, beer, food a pittance.

Lets be honest somewhere like Cosford losing the aviation enthusiast won't hurt their pockets too much, its aimed more at families and regardless of how you wrap it up most airshows are still usually a cheap family day out compared to most other days out.

RAF Cosford just sound massively unlucky today, never seen so many items go tech or have to cancel for other reasons.

I've seen people moaning all over the place comparing it to RIAT, saying they won't attend next year, etc, etc ! Lets hope it's not another airshow we lose off the dwindling circuit.

That's ashame. In 2019 it used burners at Yeovilton and RIAT so I'm not sure why it hasn't the last couple of years.

It’s a shame the RAF’s main show is at Cosford. It makes Duxford look well run!

But if/when they pull 2 or 3 fast jet displays next year, this'll all be forgotten about, it's the fickle world we live in to be honest. Not to be funny, if you're hungry for strong participation, RIAT should be the only UK show on your scopes.

Given the unlucky issues they had ahead of and on the day it actually wasn’t a bad airshow. The Pat Swiss were great and the Reds were surprisingly good even though they were one jet short. The F35 was fantastic but why oh why can’t they upgrade to a full display? I liked the A400 Flypast and the single Herc flyby was slightly emotional. The Falcons looked good and the Wasp was a nice late addition. Seen em all before but the Jaguar/Tornado static line up was nicely done and the vintage wartime display was interesting. Finally the selection of museum aircraft was great to see, the examples being rarely seen in the open air. Now for the bad points. Again only one of the large hangers behind the Tower was open so any notion that last years similar situation was simply due to ramping up after Covid doesn’t hold water. The non appearance of the KC135 was, I’m sorry to say, pathetic in my opinion. You’d think the US airforce would want to get the UK public ‘on side’ by showing its airframes. Why do I think we’ll see a similar debacle come RIAT time with the B52s? The Typhoon display was slightly marred by 3 x Juno’s, engines running and awaiting departure right in front of us. Pity they didn’t release them prior to this. So will I return next year? Probably but there certainly needs to be more reheat jet action as one example simply isn’t good enough for a major airshow. This year it wasn’t ‘Cosford on Sea’ but it wasn’t that far off!

Well if the Cosford organisers have your attitude of ‘if you want strong participation go to RIAT’ good luck seeing 2/3 jets.

I don’t think any one is asking for RIAT levels of participation. Just a show that’s not run like a circus?
