According to an unofficial post on a F-104 Facebook fan group, the TF-104G N991SF "Black Beauty" is currently en route towards Italy on board an Italian Air Force C-130. The post says it will be re-assembled in Grosseto airbase (former F-104 base). It is unclear whether it will be re-based in Pratica di Mare for the airshow.

However, still no official confirmation from the Italian Air Force.

I tried to access few days ago from few countries and this is the result:
Can access: UK, Germany, France, Poland, Grecce
Can NOT access: Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia
Maybe now is diferent situation.

According to the website it’s open from 10am-4pm every day apart from Mondays

https://www.aeronautica.difesa.it/home/ ... o-storico/
I have had a slightly evasive reply from the museum - it is not yet open and we should look at the above site to see when it will be reopened.

Unfortunately I have now had to cancel the whole trip due to family illness.

The reply I got, and the website itself, seems to suggest it is now open. I guess I’ll find out one way or the other next week

Sorry you’ve had to cancel your trip, and the reasons for it.

I see with interest that the Tornado is down to fly, do we know if this is just a flypast or have the worked up a display for this year?

Iam hoping there are dynamic displays by most of the front line types.. i know in the past they have worked up displays in Tonkas and Starfighters and usually always have a Typhoon demo each year, interesting to also see if an F35 demo might be worked up.

Considering the show is billed as
10am to 18.00 it seems like there will be more than just fly pasts
(one can only hope).

Was in Rome for the past few days, The Website says 'Opening Soon'. I got zero replies from them despite numerous emails so did not take the chance in going out.

There is a Bleriot in Capitoline Hill from the Museum if anyone if interested.
Cheers

Should be done within the next days.

A message on scramble said the organization used geo-fencing and slow response to limit the number of foreigners applying for entry to the show.

Apparently they didn’t expect such a high interest from abroad

That post on Scramble sounded to me like someone randomly speculating, rather than having any actual inside knowledge.

That guy has a lot of contacts in the Italian military. He’s not a person that speculates

Spotter emails have started to go out:
Good afternoon,

First, let us thank you for your welcome interest in the Aeronautica Militare.

We confirm your accreditation on the “Spotter Day”, June 16th, as requested.

You will be allowed to enter Pratica di Mare Air Base (Rome), at the entrance located in Via Arno, on your own vehicle, from 9 a.m.

Please follow the attached circulation instructions while inside the air base.

The air show will end at 7 p.m.

While inside the air base, it will be possible to buy food and drinks at refreshment stalls set up for the occasion.

We suggest you wear a hat and a high-visibility jacket during the air show.

Before starting activities, the staff will provide all necessary information and procedures which will have to be followed strictly.

Best regard,
No idea yet which side of the runway the spotters will be on, although judging by the entrance points it will be the same as the show days.

According to a slideshow circulating on Italian Whatsapp spotters groups, spotters will be on the opposite side of the runway on friday only.

According to the same slideshow, there seem not to be provisions for public transportation, only few car parkings with shuttle buses.

Today the Caproni Ca.3 replica returned to the air, so it is likely it will partecipate to the airshow.
