Did someone mention that the event was being televised by one of the RAI TV channels? I've quickly checked through this thread and cannot find any mention of it.

I'd appreciate a reply 'cause Rome is a little too far from the former penal colony to justify a weekend outing to this airshow.

Thanks to anyone who responds with some info.
Yes the website did say it would be televised-not home right now but will look it up later

Thanks, Berf. I checked the website and found the details on the airshow page. Sunday, 18th, appears to be the day. Thanks for your help.

The thing that has surprised me is the very little (if any) foreign air force participation to celebrate the event, The Swiss one had a huge amount of foreign participants as did the RAF 100 at Fairford. Is this maybe why RIAT has adopted it as a key event for this year?

Even others branches of the Italian Armed forces are not on the participation list.
Could also be reason they are at RIAT.....

It was supposed to be an “AMI only” event. Not even Marina, no Esercito participating, only active and historic AMI aircraft. They kept their word.
Which has its charme, international participants you can see at any other event.

Have they got the rest of the markings onto the Gina yet? Arrows and roundel, Frecce legend?

Unfortunately yes, it does nothing for me dressed as Frecce 10. Plain blue was better, classic camo would have been brilliant!

should have been left camo yes but if going Frecce, I'd prefer it technically correct than half-arsed. Cheers.

Agreed re authenticity, it made it here and is flying so that’s the main thing, and will be a welcome addition to RIAT static as well.

An Instagram story, so time limited, but there’s a BOTCS of her in full marks.

I too would have preferred the camo but must say, she does look bloody excellent.

Three more F-35’s just dropped in, making six as far as I’m aware.

It will be interesting to see how they arrange their statics, hopefully not like Zeltweg! :fingers_crossed:
