Suspect not much to note about this at this stage, but they’ve just confirmed that next year it’s taking place at Aalborg, rather than Skrydstrup.

9th June 2024.

This is shaping up to be a good show, but I seem to remember reading that the organisation for the last one was a bit of a shambles with hours long shuttle bus queues etc. Does anyone know if that's the norm for this show?
2025 shows: Cosford, RIAT, Sanicole with a couple of Duxford, Shuttleworth and seaside shows thrown into the mix.

I don’t know about shuttle busses etc, but I was at the last Danish Air Show (and in 2016, though I haven’t done Aalborg) and both were very well organised events, the Danes are excellent hosts.

I don’t recall much queuing at all, but we rented a car. Perhaps different with the busses.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll be travelling by car so hopefully given the usual caveats of arriving early etc it will be ok. I’m not sure I can resist seeing a Sea King in the air one more time.

Ålborg was great in 2018, although I don't know anything about the public transportation situation either. Getting on base was easy, getting out at the same time as everyone else took a while though - so I guess the moral of the story is, if you're able to arrive early and leave late, do just that.

They've just announced a Spotter's day for the Saturday before the show, but it's limited to 200 people, so it's probably going to be the same as it was in Karup in 2022.

Yes, I've been to several, including the last one at Aalborg. Personally I think that the Danes put on one of the best shows in Europe at this point. The last spotter's day at Aalborg was also very well organized, with photographers being able to shoot from the opposite side of the crowdline during the rehearsals on Saturday.

What to expect? Well, there's usually a very good turn out of European fast jet displays, but in addition you get all the Danish items that you rarely see outside of Denmark. Aalborg is home to the Danish C-130s so I'd say you're pretty much guaranteed some C-130 action, and I'd expect them to show off their newly aquired F-35s as well as the F-16 solo display. They also tend to do some nice role demos with the AS550s, AW101s and MH-60s and at Karup in 2022 nine F-16s did an awesome beat up of the airfield. And I've got it on good authority that the SwAFHF will be going there again this year ;)

As others have said, the Danes put on a great show. Very accessible too. Make sure you get in early on show day.

As always, our own UKAR reviews are a great resource if you want to get the flavour of an event.

Airshow has just been postponed until 2025 according to a statement on Facebook

Engelsk version

In order to prioritize operational tasks, we have made the decision to postpone the Danish Air Show to 2025. Building and maintaining operational capabilities are our main focus areas, and from a broader perspective, we have found it necessary to defer the Danish Air Show to 2024.

Naturally, we are sad about this decision, as it is a day we always look forward to, where we proudly showcase our workplace. We hope for and believe in understanding from everyone and look forward to welcoming you to the Danish Air Show and the 75th anniversary of the Air Force on June 15, 2025.

Just over six weeks out from the show. That’s unusually poor form from the Danes.

A great shame for those who have booked flights, accommodation, hire cars etc. (of course, Denmark itself is a fantastic place to spend a weekend, so all is not lost, but still, that’s a kick in the teeth)

If anyone is committed, I highly recommend the Stauning Museum; it’s an immaculate place and one of my favourite European aviation museums.

Wow, what a disappointment. I was planning on attending this show, but after eventually being successful in the Airpower ballot decided against it. A massive disappointment for those who were planning on travelling internationally, and would certainly put me off considering this show in the future.

As stated above though, Denmark is great place to visit and Copenhagen in particular is fantastic for anyone who enjoys good beer - it's a regular getaway for the wife and I, so if you have booked to go then all is not lost!

I wouldn't mind if they cancelled the show in January, but just six weeks out was quite a let down. Fortunately we had planned to start the weekend off in Germany with a day at the fence at Jagel and then the Tiger Meet Spotter's Day, so all is not lost.

Same as me, then - but this is still a blow. And as you say, with only 6 weeks notice... not great.
Posting comments on an aviation-related chatroom, are ya? Looks like it an' all...

It's potentially a bit of a trek depending on where you're flying to/from in Denmark, but Fassberg are hosting a Tag der Bundeswehr open day on Saturday 8th which could be a nice alternative for anyone who's locked in to their travel that weekend.

We are staying in Jagel for NTM and were planning to drive up to Aalborg for the Danish show so this might be an alternative for us. Any idea if there will be many aircraft’s/flying at these events.

The 2019 event had a good amount of flying from CH-53, NH90 and H-145, predominantly role demo style stuff, plus appearances from A400M, EF2000 and C-47.

The German Typhoon solo and the NH90 display are both slated for Fassberg.
