This will be my first year at Sanicole, signed up for both Saturday evening and Sunday, the Sunday looks great mix but I must confess I am a little disappointed there are not more jets out for the SAturday evening show - just Typhoon and Patrouille Suisse. Not that I don't like turbo-props (and gliders) but in evening light was hoping for more jets.

Am I being unfair ? can previous attendees tell me please how lucky I am to see the show on the SAt evening ?

Saturday is not the full international airshow which is a one day event on the Sunday.

Saturday is the shorter Sunset Display which is a very different spectacle. (all about the better light, the sunset backdrop and pyrotechnics). It finishes after dark.

Sunday is the more traditional 6.5 hour flying display.

Some good reviews give a good insight in what to expect during the sunset show.

Two solo jets is the norm, so... :)

Edit: Yes, there have been occasions with 3 solo jets or 2 display teams, but those are not "the norm". More items will be added, pending paperwork, but don't expect massive changes compared to previous years.

They'll be some, but don't expect too much as its a much shorter display (and always has been)

Hoping for at least another jet, as Chrisse was hinting to!

Still hoping for an F16 for saturday, another warbird is very welcome too since i wouldnt be suprised to see the Spitfire and Huricane be canceled..

IMO not strange to expect because these are the themes of the air show..

Special edition badges in the mail today. One of them is for the celebration of 50 years F-16 Fighton Falcon, with the original painscheme on it, or 2024 USAF demoteam paint? Sanicole I don't ask for much, but I see there's a gap in the USAF F-16 schedule around the Sanicole weekend... Please!

How do you know it will be a borrowed one? Seems they have enough time to fly their original Viper over to Europe...

F35 demo team also borrowed a jet from EU, and they also had some time to fly the jet over

Behave please! Given the US. directive on restricted, almost non-existent overseas Airshow participation, I'm fairly sure there's NO case for flying a solo F-16 jet thousands of miles across the Atlantic
Ocean merely because it has an unusual paint scheme? USAF Base Spangdahlem has a plentiful supply of similar jets & is just 100 miles (160 kms) from Sanicole as the Viper flies!!

I'll behave! Was asking because I'm flying with Aviation Photocrew on Sunday, so was hoping to catch the paintscheme up in the air. But will be an amazing day nonetheless! Thx for the info

I told you you'd like the next 2 day performer.. And to avoid confusion, yes it is an SP jet.

'The Americans don't fly their demo's abroad'.

Shame it's not the special though.

I’m sure the people going to Sanicole will rlly enjoy it. But from what I’ve experienced and seen, viper demo team is such a boring display in my honest opinion. I dare say it’s one of if not the worst. Not digging at the commitment of both the Sanicole and usaf acc, not at anyone just saying I think it’s quite a boring display! Hats off to the team for getting it though
